An intermediate size dry-mate connector mating system that provides high strength for those applications with substantial axial loads. The ANSI flange of the receptacle combined with the bolt on features of the mated plug offers superior strength in a dry-mate connector set for those demanding applications. The contacting interfaces remain fully protected from the harsh, subsea environment by means of dual redundant O-Ring seals. The hybrid option includes a combination of optical and electrical connections to transmit high speed communications through a mated connector set. The intermediate size provides an alternative option for use within existing subsea communications systems.
